The Solar Perspective
The gist of the "solar" perspective
is that the true measure of human progress is the degree to which we come to
understand and accept our true place in the universe. The concept of solar man represents our ultimate realization and
acceptance of our true nature. One
thing humanity absolutely is, beyond denial, is part of the solar system. Sol is our home star, the solar system our
home base. Earth is the womb in which
we have been born. Most of us cleave
our loyalties to absurdly small sub-units of the planet.
The often pettiness of democratic
politics tends to tarnish the wonder of it all. The epoch-proclaiming grandeur of "novus ordo
seclorum," which adorns the reverse of the great seal of the United
States, declares "a new order of the ages (is born)". The tiresome verbiage of petty politicos
melts before the power of such words like a million snowflakes evaporating
under a blazing sun. How can we get
away from the pettiness and back to the grandeur?
For over two hundred years, the
"new order of the ages" has grown not only in power, but in
depth. Democracy today is closer to
reality, closer to true public sovereignty, than ever before. The U.S. Constitution began with the
grammatical error of forming a "more perfect union". A perfect union is an absolute, like a full
glass of water, it cannot become more perfect or more full. But, if we go along with the imperfect
grammar, then the union since has become more perfect still. We guarantee more rights to more people than
ever before.
