Solar Nation – What it is.
Solar
nation is a concept and a goal. The
concept is that we the people of the planet Earth will soon be ready to expand
outward from our place of birth, growing out into the Solar System. The goal is that we do it right. We can grow together as we grow outward,
discarding the old concepts of war and nation-state sovereignty for the new
concepts of peace, unity, democracy and true public sovereignty. We the people of the Solar System should
come together to create just as much unity as we choose.
Since we are beginning a new millennium on the calendar, we should choose to make it a new age as well. The year 2001 is the year 1 of the Solar Age. The Solar Age is the coming time when we will choose our destiny, either bumbling around and perhaps getting more or less the kind of total human society we would like, or actually choosing deliberately. We can build a Solar Nation of all humanity.
The tragedy of September 11, 2001, cries out for the solar perspective and shows once again why we should be building toward a Solar Nation including all humanity. A crime such as this might not even be possible in a world of peace, democracy and law. Certainly, there would be less basis for justification, for those who attempt to justify such actions, in a world of justice and law. And there would be fewer places for them to hide, no truly safe havens for anyone in which to prepare such crimes with impunity. And even if such a crime were to occur in a free, united world, the sword of justice could strike cleanly, not by making war on a nation, killing innocents in the wrong place at the wrong time to get to the guilty, but directly at the guilty who could no longer hide behind the shield of nation-state sovereignty. America should use the great moral strength it has grown through its history to lead the world to the "new order for the ages" it proclaims on the back of every dollar bill.
